Inside the van you will find a bed for two people and basic equipment for camping.
The vans normally have two or three seats in the front. The back area is only for sleeping and it is not allowed to travel there.
Electric vans have an approximate range of 250 km depending on weather, driving style and road conditions.

Our vans are equipped with an “Autopass” tag to automatically register road tolls and ferries. Charges will be deducted from the toll deposit and, if exceeding it, from the security deposit. A road toll deposit of €100 applies for rentals up to 7 days. A road toll deposit of €200 applies for bookings longer than 7 days. This deposit is held as a pre-authorization for toll expenses and will be charged accordingly. Return of the remaining road toll deposit will be made within 30 days. If the Lessor must obtain and provide specified documentation for road tolls, an administration fee of €20 will apply.
SPEED FINES, PARKING FINES, AND PARKING FEES
These will be deducted from the security deposit, plus an administration fee of €20. Parking fees and parking fines may be invoiced after the rental period even if the deposit has been returned. An extra invoice with documentation will be sent to the Lessee. Parking fees are not automatically registered by the tag in the vehicle.
If a situation occurs where a vehicle engine overheats and is continuously driven despite warnings from vehicle alarm systems, rendering the vehicle inoperable, or if other damage is caused by neglect of vehicle alarm systems, the Lessor has the right to terminate the rental agreement and end further use of the vehicle at the Lessee’s expense. The Lessee will be liable for towing, transport, and repair at the Lessee’s expense.
2.DRIVER
The driver (Lessee) has read, understood, and accepted the terms and conditions. A current, full, valid driving license which allows the driver(s) to operate the vehicle is required. An English translation may be necessary. The driver confirms acceptance by signing the digital rental contract. If the contract is not signed before the pickup time, the Lessee will be deemed to have confirmed and accepted it upon taking possession of the vehicle. The driver must provide an ID card, residence card, or passport. The driver must be 23 years of age or older. Drivers under 23 years old must contact CamperVan EU AS to arrange special insurance coverage. For insurance purposes, only the driver(s) declared in the contract are authorized to operate the vehicle. If other people are going to drive, the Lessee is obliged to inform the Lessor before pickup. If other people, besides the named Lessee, drive the van without prior notification to the Lessor, they are considered unauthorized drivers.
- USE OF THE VEHICLE
The Lessee receives the vehicle in safe and legal condition for the duration of the agreed rental period, with all documents, tires, tools, and accessories, and commits to maintaining them and driving the vehicle according to Norwegian traffic rules. The following is expressly prohibited: Driving the vehicle by an unauthorized person. Transporting people or goods for hire or reward (subletting). Transporting people or goods without the required administrative authorization. In case of breach, the Lessee will be responsible for any sanctions imposed on the Lessor. Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, while fatigued, ill, or otherwise unfit to drive. Using the vehicle to push or tow other vehicles. Leaving the vehicle badly parked or poorly secured when not in use. Driving outside the national road network or on any unsuitable terrain. Damages resulting from such use, or from driving in restricted areas, are expressly excluded from insurance coverage. Failing to repair tire damage or punctures. Repairs must be done by the Lessee or arranged through the Lessor at the nearest local workshop. Failing to stop the vehicle as soon as possible when any warning light or alarm indicates an anomaly, and failing to contact the Lessor or the insurance assistance company to arrange an inspection. Unauthorized repairs will not be reimbursed if they could have avoided further damage. Driving the vehicle outside of Norway. Driving in restricted or unsuitable areas, which voids insurance coverage. Engaging in extreme or demanding sports driving that causes premature wear or undue stress to the vehicle. Altering any technical characteristics of the vehicle, keys, tools, and/or accessories. In case of breach, the Lessee must bear the justified costs of restoring the vehicle to its original state, plus a compensation fee for vehicle immobilization. Transporting children under three years of age, or children over three who are under 150 cm tall, without using a correctly homologated child restraint system suitable for the child’s weight and size. Sleeping in the car while the electric car is charging or the petrol/diesel engine is running.
- PICKUP OF THE VEHICLE
The Lessee will pick up the vehicle at the agreed pickup location in Oslo, Trondheim, or Bergen during standard office hours, unless otherwise agreed/instructed. Pickup outside of office hours will be subject to a fee. Pick-up information will be provided in advance. Vehicles will be cleaned and equipped according to the Lessor’s quality standards. If a vehicle is not returned on time by the previous Lessee, the new Lessee might experience a delay. The Lessor will inform the new Lessee of this as soon as possible. The Lessee is responsible for documenting the vehicle’s exterior and interior condition at pickup by taking timestamped photos or videos.
- RETURN OF THE VEHICLE
The Lessee will return the vehicle along with all documents, keys, tires, tools, and accessories in the same condition as at the start of the rental, at the agreed return location in Oslo, Trondheim, or Bergen, on the agreed date and time. Any alteration to the return time or location must be agreed upon and authorized in writing by the Lessor. Missing or damaged items upon return will be charged to the Lessee’s credit card or deducted from the deposit. If the vehicle is returned in an excessively dirty condition beyond normal use (e.g., soil, chewing gum, resin, oil, spilled food), an extra cleaning charge of €50 will apply. If the vehicle is returned more than 2 hours late, an extra fee of €50 will apply. If the vehicle is returned more than 4 hours late, an extra fee of €100 will apply. The Lessee is obliged to inform the Lessor of any later-than-agreed arrival. If the Lessee violates the terms of this contract, the Lessor may repossess the vehicle immediately and without further notice at the Lessee’s expense. The Lessee is responsible for documenting the vehicle’s condition at return by taking timestamped photos or videos.
- RENTAL CHARGES, DEPOSIT, FEES, & CANCELLATION
All payments must be made by accepted credit card, bank transfer, PayPal, or via the booking system. The rental charges and deposit must be paid no later than 30 days before the start of the rental. Bookings made close to the pickup date must be paid as soon as possible after receiving payment instructions. Card/bank information will be stored by the Lessor and its payment providers. Payment fees/charges imposed by payment providers for rental and refund transactions are payable by the Lessee. Such fees may be deducted from the deposit if charged to the Lessor on the Lessee’s behalf. The Lessor reserves the right to alter the price due to a manifest error in pricing within 30 days of booking. The Lessor reserves the right to cancel rental agreements due to a lack of available vehicles up to 30 days before the rental start date.
BOOKING AGENT
Rentals booked through a third-party booking agent are subject to the terms of both the booking agent and the Lessor.
DEPOSIT
A security deposit will be charged to the Lessee’s account or paid before arrival/pick-up. It will be held for up to 30 days after the rental ends and refunded once all balances are settled. The deposit covers the security excess, road tolls, parking/speed fines, damages, repairs, refueling/recharging costs, and other expected and unexpected costs. A 2%-4% administration fee will apply to cover payment processing costs for refunds, depending on the card issuer’s fees.
CANCELLATION RULES
If you cancel your reservation within 24 hours of making it, we will refund the full amount. After 24 hours, the general rules below apply. A minimum fee of €150 applies to all cancellations made after the initial 24-hour period. Cancellation requests must be sent to bookings@campervaneu.com with the customer’s name and booking reference number. Cancellation by the Lessee more than 60 days before rental start: 100% of the total rental amount already paid will be refunded, minus transfer charges and the €150 minimum fee. Cancellation by the Lessee between 59 and 15 days before rental start: 25% of the total rental amount will be refunded, minus transfer charges and the €150 minimum fee. Cancellation by the Lessee less than 15 days before rental start: 0% of the total rental amount will be refunded. The road toll deposit will be refunded in full, minus any applicable transfer charges. Any cancellation charges will be applied to the Lessee’s credit card and/or deducted from the deposit.
7.FUEL/ELECTRIC CHARGING/MILEAGE
The vehicle will be delivered with a full tank of fuel (Octane 95 or Diesel, as appropriate). The Lessee is responsible for using the correct fuel type. Electric vans will be delivered with a minimum of 90% battery charge or 200 km of range. Fuel vehicles must be returned with a full tank. Electric vehicles must be returned with at least the same battery level as at pickup. If returned with a lower fuel/battery level, the cost of refueling/recharging plus a €20 administration fee will be charged. The Lessee must notify the Lessor with photographic evidence if the vehicle is provided with less than a full fuel tank or the agreed minimum battery capacity.
Rental Duration and Mileage Limit
The rental period and mileage limit are as per the rental agreement and/or booking system, with a standard maximum daily average of 200 km/day. Excess kilometres will be charged at €0.30 per km. The vehicle’s odometer reading will be noted at pickup and return. Exceeding the mileage limit will result in the additional charges stated above, which will be deducted from the deposit.
- ACCIDENTS
In case of an accident, the Lessee must: Obtain the complete information (name, address, insurance, license plate) of the other party and any witnesses, and take photos/videos of the scene. Complete an accident report form and send it to the Lessor within 48 hours of the incident. Not abandon the rented vehicle without taking adequate measures to secure and protect it. Immediately notify the Lessor of the incident details within 12 hours.
- RESPONSIBILITY OF THE LESSOR
The Lessor declares it has taken necessary precautions to avoid mechanical failures of the rented vehicle. However, it assumes no responsibility for any direct or indirect damages caused to the Lessee as a result of such failures or breakdowns.
- INSURANCE
The Lessor holds valid liability insurance. The rental fee includes the legally mandatory standard vehicle insurance for the driver. Third-party insurance liability meets the minimum amount required by Norwegian law. The Lessee may purchase additional separate accident insurance at their own discretion.
Security Deposit and Financial Liability:
We charge a security deposit of 600 euros to all customers, regardless of their insurance choice. This deposit is a partial security amount and does not represent the maximum financial liability of the Lessee. In case of damage, accident, loss, or insurance claim, the Lessee is financially responsible up to the maximum insurance excess (egenandel) defined by the vehicle insurance provider at the time of the incident, currently up to NOK 12,000 per incident, regardless of the security deposit amount. Any costs exceeding the security deposit may be charged to the Lessee by invoice or credit card, based on documented repair or insurance costs, in accordance with Clause 11.
For Customers Who Accept SCDW (10 euros/day):
The SCDW limits the Lessee’s financial liability for damage to a maximum of 800 euros per covered incident. This specific limit overrides the standard excess (egenandel) of NOK 12,000 for such incidents. In case of damage covered by the SCDW, the total charge will not exceed 800 euros, including the security deposit. If no damage occurs, the deposit will be fully refunded, minus applicable insurance processing fees.
For Customers Who Decline SCDW:
The Lessee remains financially responsible up to the full insurance excess (egenandel) as stated above (currently NOK 12,000 per incident). An initial charge of up to 1,200 euros may be applied to cover part of this liability. Any remaining costs will be invoiced based on actual documented repair or insurance costs. If no damage occurs, the deposit will be refunded, minus applicable processing fees.
Important Note on Processing Fees:
In all cases, the Lessee is responsible for any processing or administrative fees charged by the insurance company or payment provider (e.g., 2%–4%). Any deposit refund will always be the total amount minus these fees.
INSURANCE (CDW AND SCDW) DOES NOT COVER:
Intentional damage or damage due to gross negligence. Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, stimulants, or sedatives. Damage caused by racing, testing, or reckless driving. Water damage caused by off-road driving or driving through flooded areas. Burn holes in seats, carpets, or mats. Damage caused by driving on rough or unsuitable roads without adapting speed accordingly. Driving in prohibited areas such as paths, tracks, riverbanks, beaches, or other trackless terrain. Exceptions are emergency situations, which must be immediately documented. The Lessee’s personal belongings left in or stolen from the vehicle. Lessor insurance does not cover personal property. Damage to the Lessee’s personal property caused by unpredictable events or natural disasters. Losses resulting from missed pre-booked activities due to vehicle-related issues. The Lessor will not reimburse any non-refundable deposits or prepayments. The Lessee is responsible for documenting the condition of the vehicle at pickup and return by photos or video.
- CHARGES TO CREDIT CARDS
By entering into this agreement, the Lessee expressly authorizes the Lessor to charge the provided credit card for: (i) the agreed rental charges and deposits; (ii) any additional costs, damages, or fines incurred during the rental period as outlined in this contract; and (iii) any outstanding amounts due after the termination of the rental. The Lessor will provide a detailed breakdown of any such charges.
- ROAD ASSISTANCE, TECHNICAL FAULT, REPAIR & SERVICE
The rental contract includes a roadside assistance service. The Lessor’s vehicles are regularly maintained and serviced. The Lessee must inform the Lessor as soon as possible of any incidents or faults. Technical faults that occur during the rental and can be rectified within a reasonable time (relative to the rental duration) do not give the Lessee the right to cancel the rental. If the vehicle is immobilized, the Lessor’s liability is limited to refunding the rental fee for the period the vehicle is in a repair shop and unusable. If the Lessee chooses to cancel the rental despite a repairable fault, they remain responsible for the rental fee, minus the time estimated for repairs, and for the cost of returning the vehicle to the Lessor’s station.
Termination for Prolonged Repair:
If the vehicle becomes inoperable due to a technical fault and cannot be repaired within a reasonable time frame (considering the rental duration), the Lessor shall have the option, at its sole discretion, to either: (a) provide a replacement vehicle of similar standard, or (b) terminate the rental agreement from the time the fault was reported. In case of termination under (b), the Lessor will refund a proportional amount of the rental fee for the unused days and arrange for the recovery of the vehicle at its own cost. The Lessor shall not be liable for any additional costs (e.g., accommodation, travel) incurred by the Lessee as a result of such termination.
If roadside assistance is needed due to a flat battery or damaged tires and the cause is determined to be the Lessee’s fault, the Lessee will be responsible for the assistance fee and all related repair costs. No refund is given for “lost time” due to repairs. Minor repairs (e.g., replacing wiper blades, light bulbs) up to a maximum of NOK 2,500 will be reimbursed against documented receipts upon return, provided they were necessary and agreed in advance. Repairs exceeding this amount require the Lessor’s prior authorization.
TRANSPORT AND COLLECTION OF THE VEHICLE OUTSIDE THE STANDARD AGREEMENT
The standard pickup and drop-off locations are the Lessor’s premises in Oslo, Trondheim, or Bergen. The Lessee may request delivery or collection at a different address. This service must be requested when arranging the rental and explicitly agreed upon in advance at an extra cost.
PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA
Your personal data will be processed in a client file under the responsibility of the Lessor, as necessary for the performance of this contract and to comply with legal obligations. We will not sell your data and will use it only in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
VEHICLE
Specific models and brands advertised on the website may vary. The Lessor reserves the right to substitute a vehicle within the same group (or of a higher group) before the agreed pickup time. Any substitution will not affect the agreed price, comfort, or usability. The Lessee will be informed of any such changes. The number of kilometres driven is controlled by the vehicle’s odometer.
EQUIPMENT
Included equipment may vary from pictures shown online but will be of equivalent utility and value. Gas bottle/canister levels will vary and can be exchanged at petrol stations or shops in Norway. All equipment and gas fittings must be used safely and correctly. The Lessee is responsible for any damage caused by incorrect use.
ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS
Please respect nature. Minimize your impact, keep rest areas clean, and dispose of all garbage in designated municipal bins, which are free to use.
