How to Charge an Electric Camper Van in Norway
Charging an electric camper van in Norway is simple, fast and convenient. Norway has one of Europe’s best public EV charging networks, with fast chargers available in cities, villages, tourist routes, campsites and service stations.
Step 1 – Download Useful Charging Apps
Before starting your road trip, we recommend installing a few charging apps. These apps help you find nearby chargers, check availability, start charging and pay directly from your phone.
Step 2 – Find a Fast Charger
For the easiest experience, use a fast charger with a CCS connector. This is the standard fast charging connector used by our electric camper vans.
- Open ChargeFinder, Elton or Google Maps.
- Search for chargers near your destination or along your route.
- Choose a charger marked as fast charging or CCS.
- Check that the charger is available before driving there.
- Use navigation to drive directly to the charging station.
Step 3 – How to Start Charging
- Park close to the charging station.
- Open the charging port on the camper van.
- Take the CCS cable from the charging station.
- Connect the cable firmly to the camper van.
- Look for the QR code on the charger.
- Scan the QR code with your phone camera or with the charging app.
- Follow the instructions on your phone to start the charging session.
- If asked, enter your payment card details or confirm payment in the app.
- Wait until the charger confirms that charging has started.
Most chargers in Norway can be started either through an app, by scanning the QR code on the charger, or sometimes by using a bank card. The QR code is often the easiest option because it takes you directly to the correct charger.
